Why is it so easy, casualized, signposted, and railroaded?

It takes a very deliberate effort to actually die to enemies or hazards in this game because they deal such miniscule amounts of damage while the good floods you with health, upgrades, and resources.

The game even specifically locks you in rooms solely to force you to proceed to the upgrade so you don't backtrack and get lost.

It's a SNES game. It was aimed at little kids.

That was the era, after NES came in and gave your money's worth, SNES went for graphics to justify the premium prices.
