It's a really cool area, shame the mines before it were slightly annoying. Also:
>Unlock all this cool shit like the grinder everyone raves about and a super crowbar
>I'm not strong enough to use the crowbar and can't make the grinder yet
I'm just sprinting around slapping all the soldiers with a wrench like its System Shock 2. It's working so far, I've only died once and that was unrelated to the troops, I got killed by an environmental hazard like a moron. They're not as dangerous as they look.
I guess I'm going to have to strap some furniture to my back and go on jogs if I want to use the new heavy weapons?
Also the Order raided my base, couldn't beat me in a fight and spent the rest of the day T-posing at me. Very sore losers.

You can sneak up and bonk people in the head with the crowbar. The regular swing is always very slow and clunky. Once you get the sprint attack though, you can one-shot most enemies for a while. I forget which skill unlocks it, but it doesn't take too long.

This thing almost made me decide to quit the game but after toughing it out really hard it's actually just kinda pathetic.

It makes a really pathetic wheezing sound when it spawns that nothing else makes, so you'll know it spawns, it walks slow as shit (if you're anywhere with windows try waiting for it there, you'll see how slow it is), it gets subtitles showing that it spawned(and you can turn on directional subtitles to immediately find it), etc.

I also really want to emphasize it's REALLY SLOW and WHINY, you'll never get jumped by it or turn around and see it right in your face, it's gigaslow and you'll always know it's here by either subtitles or its sound.

You're a half life scientist in an underground lab that's a mix between half life and SCP

there's no chopping of trees or stone mining or any of that cuck bullshit that's in every survival game, here everything is makeshift, you make guns out of screws, rebar, and coils, your armor is made of cardboard and magazines, you make xray towers, you make grenades out of coffee mugs and poop, etc, it's very weird-sciency

Also, the facility you explore is very unique, handmade, and HUGE, with many SCPs, and there's many portal worlds you go to which are like alternate realities, and they respawn every few days so they're the game's infinite resource pool.

Anonymous No.718350856
>>718350632
Fixed spawns. Everyone gets the same facility and portal worlds, it's meant to be more of an adventure like bioshock.

For loot, loot only respawns inside portal worlds every maybe 1hr of gameplay, the facility itself doesn't respawn anything, and each zone has its own portal worlds containing its items that the game even tells you "hey btw portal worlds reset so if you need any resources, go into a portal world!". Regular zones still have huge amounts of loot though, you wont generally need to grind areas at all.

Loot also spawns in the same places even in resetted portal worlds too.

For the most part it is, but I think some things like setting up power cables and powering shit at night needs more of a tutorial. (The bases power shuts down each night. You can craft batteries to counter this, but it takes a little bit of experimenting or reading to work out how to implement it all effectively.
The game doesn't tell you that having tech scrap on you lets you make extension cords, allowing you to make a single plug the power source for your whole base because you can wire up everywhere.

Every piece of furniture has a dismantle option.
Dismantling furniture either turns furniture into a little gary's mod model you can stow away in your inventory, or it scraps it for parts. When you hover your cursor over a piece of furniture it'll tell you what % chance their is for you to accidentally scrap a piece of furniture into parts.

From what I've seen the barrels have a 0% chance of being destroyed by dismantling. Not only that, but you can place them by a source of water, fill them up with a bucket/pot, and then dismantle and carry the filled barrel of dirty water to your base for boiling/washing.

I'm going to be doing the train tonight, super excited to because: an endless train sounds super cozy and it'll be a great palette cleanser from the sheer amount of gamer sweat ™ Flathill had me producing.

I've been camping inside the cafeteria security office (does that cold room actually help keep food cool or not??), but I don't think me and my garbage are safe from something like men with guns given how anyone can just open those security office doors and let themselves in.

each extra battery in series loses efficiency though
Once you get to carbon batteries though you're pretty much set, ONE will power 6 devices overnight, two in series will power 12, etc. up until you have 20 carbon batteries daisy-chained, at which point it is no longer doing 6 devices per battery

Abiotic Factor does such a great job of characterize, fairly, how the GATE foundation and its' employees aren't poor delicate misunderstood geniuses being vitcimized by ignorant military organization. This entire facility is staffed by grossly irresponsible technocrats who've written a blank "the ends justify the means" cheque. Imagine if Elon Musk had studied theoretical quantum physics instead of engineering.
Think of it this way: Anteverse 22, the native dimension of the Exor, is already a potential dooms day situation with how strongly the fauna and flora react to our comparatively high-entropic dimension. There's literally half a dozen pests spawning in the kitchen every night. That's just one dimension. I don't know the grand total, but they've at least opened half a dozen more.
The various para-military groups trying to genocide this facility are making a completely rational decision.

/vg/ has /coopg/ which hasn't really been a proper coop general for a while now, it's just a vermintide/darktide general since those are overwhelmingly the most talked about current coop games and making a non-tide /coopg/ fails every time, but for some reason the tideniggers just don't want to bite the bullet and rename /coopg/ to fatshart general so the skinwalker that is /coopg/ could finally be laid to rest
the one time a new coop game (helldivers 2) got popular enough to fill up /coopg/, it made the fatshart players angry they just started shitposting so hard that helldivers got it's own general entirely since the general became unusable

Every scientist worth their salt is telling you the same thing; Sit down and wait for gatekeepers to fix things. What are you doing? Opening every single anteverse and polluting the prime dimension with constant creatures and materials not meant to be here. You literally are helping one of the documented big bads for a majority of the game, and even release the terrifying shoggoth creature that was already contained to save people from getting murdered to death.

You are literally the biggest contributing factor to why everything is fucked. Grounded 2 has a surprising amount of content for Early Access to be quite honest. All the way up to T3 equipment, multiple bosses, etc. It's a pretty well put together game all things considered. It's not like the initial early access for Grounded 1 where you could go to the oak tree and that was basically it.

The thing is, the game was rigged from the start.

Manse personally reassigned you to Cascade facility before your arrival. He personally assigned Dr. Cahn, whom he knew had been dead for years and had been replaced by the then-still-contained shapeshifting demon that he ordered as "kill/contain on sight, by any means necessary" to handle your orientation. And Dr. Manse is still MIA by the end of the game. The Sister of the Unlost is constantly telling you that you are being played on so many more levels than you even know. There's still so much we don't know.
Anonymous No.718377197

Manse didn't do that. IS-0012 shapeshifted into Manse and has been assigning ALL gate staff who make it through orientation to report him instead. You only find that out by reading an audio recording in reactor.

>DA gets an Accuracy and Reloading xp bonus according to the wiki, does that make the job worth it?
No.
By virtue of having Slow Learner, it's just a really dogshit job, and it also cripple the bonus XP (+40% instead of the normal +75%) making it even less appealing.
It also gives you very little points for traits, and the bonus skill points it gives are literally gained in the first 5 minutes of playing.
The starting gears are also useless, since you'll end up replacing them in those same 5 minutes.
>Are military guns good enough for it to be worth the trouble of grinding Accuracy and Reloading to decent levels?
Military guns are pure dogshit, gatekept behind a ton of limitations, few ammo, and awful damage.
But accuracy and reload also affects other ranged weapons.
Anonymous No.718377707
>>718376753
The problem is DA also gets forced slow learner, which not only hampers all your exp gains (including the boosted ones from accuracy and reloading so it's not even that much), it also stops you from taking wrinkly brainmeat which is one of the few worthwhile positive traits, so you essentially are taking a 40% exp penalty on everything but reloading and accuracy.

Because even with the raised xp AND wrinkly brainmeat most skills are complete agony to get to 20 by the end of the game.

with 2x xp, and brainmeat, you get about 25 xp per craft/salvage while buffed by eating a brain and the soup that gives extra crafting xp. That means to hit 20 you need to craft and salvage 3500 items. Crafting has about a one second timer, and can only be queued to 10. Even if you're scumming and doing cheesy shit like crafting and salvaging the same items to not lose resources like plastic bottles, it takes an unironic hour+ of clicking that fucking button over and over.

I often get a water barrel on my back and sprint at full speed towards grunts and one tap them with a heavy melee sprint attack. After 1 or 2 runs I got plenty of ammo to use on stuff.
I also did spend like an hour running laps while reloading a scrap shot over and over to get to Reloading 20.
If you press and hold R you can unload your current gun and reload it for XP as long as you have exactly one bullet in your inventory. my friend told me you can just hold R and it will unload but I didn't get it to work unless I had 1 bullet left I'm fairly sure XP gain is based on how much of a magazine you reload and since the scrap shot has a magazine of 1 you are always reloading a full magazine for some 40 xp (+4 with order helmet, +4 with Sustenance Soup and some extra by eating a human brain)

2 makeshift batteries, laser emitter, and laser power is infinite energy for anything everywhere, so you just wire everything up to that main line, and just make 2 makesift batteries for plugs where you want to drop one offs like a tp or a crafting bench. Once you unlock laser emitter might as well just turn off wall sockets powering down cause power gets solved

Crank the exp multiplier in the game to 2 at least, otherwise you'll miss a bunch of stuff with default exp gain due to leveling being all over the place.
You can also increase stack size if you want.
In general don't concern yourself too much with balance and don't hesitate to change values if you feel like something is too annoying.
>Any particular job I should go for, or does it not matter too much?
Any job is fine beside Defense Analyst as it also gives you an annoying debuff to exp gain.
For traits, negative needs (food, water, shitting, sleep) are pretty much free points (and the positive versions are pretty much useless), Wrinkly Brainmeat is a must (exp gain), and Fanny Pack is amazing despite what it sounds like, Buff Brainiac is also good (increased strength and carry capacity).
Avoid Slow Learner (exp gain debuff) and Lead Belly (very expensive for a problem very easily solved).

Staff is supposed to retire to Residential during the nightly off-work hours while the robots are active. I do think that they should have worked up a better justification for having the power off at night. Have an email make reference to conserving power usage during reactor maintenance or metered power while on the backup grid if something goes wrong. Having power cutoffs be the standard even when things are going smoothly is silly.

Thats what i did until i got enough str to use heavy and then just played normally.
Now to think of it - if sprint+attack doesn't require you to have heavy training then you don't need it, using regular attacks with heavy weapons is slow and annoying even after unlocking the perk so i never used it.

Yea, gains are way slower than just getting to yellow and running around, and way more boring. You can still loot stuff and play the game as usual - put benches in your inventory to get yellow, then loot stuff and move benches on hotbars, then loot more and either go back or drop benches.

Now if there was a way to add shaking vending machines in there for maximum gain, it'd be perfect.

>Lots of space
>Can stretch the one plug near the toilets to give power to the main cafeteria
>Only two easily defensible ways in - the bulletproof glass doors and the shitty little door to the side
>Can interfere with invasions by closing the kitchen shutters. I keep these closed so I have my own personal pest enclosure/point-and-laugh gallery during invasions
>It's in the centre of everything
>Two sets of vending machines, one right in the tiled area I use
>Can make the area near the security checkpoint and shuttered kitchen a killzone filled with traps for invaders from that direction
It's uncomfy and a popular location so it isn't interesting. Those are the only two downsides. I also have to crouchjump to get in, but that's my fault for making a cement barricade to keep shit out.
