Story logic made no sense, after that many episodes and that many murders time surely had to pass. He should have grown up again by now, his old gf should've moved on and he should've fucked Haibara instead (who was a much better character btw).

Too much filler which is not that uncommon in a long running series and necessary as not to catch up but you can tell when something matters to the story and when it doesn't. There was a point in the anime where it references something that happened a week in a good in the story but there was like maybe 10+ filler episodes before it. The filler episodes seem to exist in a weird void that they might as well just be treated as alternate stories that never happened. I guess most hardcore fans do that but it feels weird when the story progression is slow and piecemeal like it is.

The other obvious reason is that the show is definitely aimed at kids. The show telegraphs who the culprit is that you should not be confused at who did and how it was done. You are not gonna be lost or tricked by a red herring in a Detective Conan show ever unless you really are that dumb.
