Be completely honest with yourself. How would YOU fare in a MMO scenario like SAO S1? You can even pick the MMO that you are most familiar with.
Would you die day 1? Would you get PK? Hide in town at level 1 until someone saves you?

Depends on if I get to customize my new body or if Im stuck with my meatspace one.
Aslo do I get to feel and smell and taste things or is it all visual and auditory?
Finally, can people on the outside watch what is happening?
The answers to those determine if I slowly grind so I can fight my way out or if I become a free use slut in the starter city.

I wouldn't die day 1 but I also would not be capable of completing an entire video game without dying. I should know, I've tried to iron man many games before. In a halo series iron man I can't get through halo reach on heroic let alone halo 1 2 3 odst 4 5 and infinite.
I can't iron man mmos like ff14 either.
And in SAO's case there are even more circumstances that would prevent me from winning, like the lead game dev choosing a specific player to give chosen one skills to, or said player being a real life kendo black belt or whatever the fuck kirito was.

Depends if it's a pre- or post-update version. Pre-update, I solo clear. Post-update, that might be harder.

Frankly, yes.

The MMO I'm most familiar with is EVE Online. Doing that for real would be unpleasant- I'd probably end up as some corp's cheap thug.

Assuming the game is SAO, I'd probably work through the low levels, then if I'm not dead by then, sit around in a town doing NPC things. I assume there would be a certain wall people would gather at for being notably harder to pass. Can slowly work through to higher levels since they were in there for years, but it's not the priority.
I watched SAO like 12 years ago or something but I remember them saying something about how the system helps you fight half-competently so it's not like you're left completely floundering.
If it's just an MMO I'm most familiar with, not sure if that would be Maplestory or PSO2. In Maplestory I just sit around Henesys and in PSO2 I sit around in the lobby because everyone's there anyway, why even bother? Just play card games

a TON of MMO players are absolute retards who can't function worth a dam, it doesn't take long to actually get going and get some formula going to get EXP running

Its probably that the governmemt told hospitals to keep everyone alive and the compamy that made the hardware is forced to pay for all the damages.

Despite playing hundreds of hours I've no idea what the average EVE persons life is like. However if I'm already a capsuleer then I'm debatably immortal and free to live as I please.

That assumes that the company even has the funds for that. Most likely the leadership (if there even was one) and funds dissapear right before shit goes down.

If I could choose RaiderZ I'd never die.
I've spent thousands of hours learning nearly every enemy's attack patterns. I know the best gear, I've even explored every single pserver with custom content to the fullest extent.
It is my favorite MMO and although it's been shutdown for over a decade I still play it near daily.
I love the people that stick around, I love dueling in town, I love boss challenges, I love the world, the music, the combat, the classes, the armors.

Goddamn I miss MAIET so much. I wish GunZ 2 didn't bankrupt and ruin the company. I've even tried to purchase the IP itself. I love the game.
