This is something zoomers dont realize. The gameboy was so you could play games at home when the family was using the living room tv. Because households only really had 1 tv most of the time. It wasnin the living room and if your mom/dad/older siblings wanted to use it you were confined to gameboy in the corner. Or in your room.

That glacier purple with the battery pack, absolutely. I can't remember if it was also glacier, transluscent, or partial both, but being a kid in those years, having a rechargeable battery pack was life changing. I believe my younger brother finally found the same meaning when those 360 controllers got the rechargeable battery packs.
Sure I'd play plugged into cord until it was done, but never changing batteries, not having to beg parents to buy batteries, the single best accessory in my video game life. Now it's pretty standard and everything can charge almost anywhere
It also made holding it feel a little more safe. Those hours at the dogtrack with dad, being able to play dragon warrior monsters without worry

Looks like β€œ0115-D8CF” is a GameShark (or similar cheat device) code for the original PokΓ©mon Red and Blue games. Specifically, it allows you to encounter Mew in the wild.

What the Code Does

According to SuperCheats, entering 0115D8CF (without the hyphen) causes "every PokΓ©mon (even trainers)β€”except yoursβ€”to turn into Mew!"

The Glitch City Wiki explains that the code 01xxD8CF can be used to encounter any PokΓ©mon by changing the xx to that PokΓ©mon’s hexadecimal ID. For Mew, the ID is 15, so 0115D8CF = Mew
Glitch City

.

How to Use It (Red & Blue)

Load your game (PokΓ©mon Red or Blue).

Open your cheat device (GameShark, Action Replay, emulator cheat menu, etc.).

Enter: 0115D8CF.

Save your game beforehandβ€”cheats can be unpredictable.

Walk into tall grass and you'll encounter Mew in the wild!

at most you'd have a light you could put on it to help light up the screen since there was no backscreen lighting but the rest of that shit? no.

Only portable game console I ever owned was a gameboy color, and tetris DX was the only game I had for it. Worked at a gas station through high school & college and just left it in the drawer under the cash register the whole time to play when it was slow. No one else that worked there was ever able to beat my high score in the 6 years I was there. I left it there when I got another job. Sometimes I wonder how many people have used my old gameboy, or if anyone was ever able to beat my high score. How long did the old girl live until she was put out to pasture?

GBC is still millennial age. But no way that's legit from the era. I dug mine out and the screen has been tinted black and it's cracking heavily.

I got that gbc in 2000 when my uncle was looking after me in 3rd grade and and heavily used it heavily until pokemon ruby came out and I got a GBA. It has a single hairline crack on the top left of the screen, but it's on the area pixels don't even show up. A few dings on the side, but generally in ok quality.
I saw it again while cleaning out an electronics box a few months ago that I shoved into a closet 7 years ago when I bought my house.
God those wormlights sucked, but it was better than not playing on long night rides.
I had a few other peripherals, but they were all stupid and madkatz brand.

I have that, I just liked using it for the lights, I thought it was pretty good. Also had a rechargeable battery station where the batteries were attached to its own backplate specifically made for the transparent blue GBA. Can't find it on google though and lazy to dig it out.

She is farting so hard and fast that it's creating a constant and comfy atmosphere that the vacuum of space can't suck out fast enough.
