There are way too many games, even just ones that appeal to me, to ever play them all today. Fuck, I still haven't P ranked all of Pizza Tower yet. So many games I've never played and I'll revisit shit like Brutal Legend or Castle Crashers for nostalgia.

20-30 years ago staying abreast of the handful of good games was pretty easy. PS1 and PS2 had 10000 games each but 9 out of 10 were licensed slop, it was easy to figure that out if you were a little savvy.

Yeah. Right now. Most games don't just disappear. The amount of releases just grow over the years and accumulate in a messy pile of growing options. People falsely think new releases=good and anything X amount of years old is irrelevant, but if you ask people for gaming suggestions is almost always older stuff rather than newslop.

Gen Alpha has the right idea. Just pick a few that have a lot of variability in gameplay and stick to those. Games that are years old are still fun, especially if there's an active social community still playing and talking about it. Outside of that you can just play 1 or 2 standalone games per year. Ez life
