How do you keep track of what games you've played over the years?

I've maintained a spreadsheet of every game I've ever beaten in my life. I've maintained it since 2015 and have logged every game I've beaten per year since.

I don't actively keep track of any games I beat, if I don't remember them then they weren't good enough to remember, simple as

Achievements and trophies help with that honestly. I've never felt a need to remember every game I've played though, but if I see box art of it or someone discussing it the memories flood back to me.

Used to keep a spreadsheet, nowadays I use Backloggd and leave the occasional comment/note for weird indie shit that isn't on there

Memory and Excel, though (A) I haven't played much vidya in general and (B) I haven't noted down what I've been playing around 2000-2008 which feels like a PS2 blur.

but when you're 45 will you remember all the games you beat when you were 12 years old?

I make a tier list for every game I play each year. Here's my list last year.

These days I use Backloggd but I should keep a spreadsheet as well just in case.

I keep a spreadsheet that records all sorts of info like my score for the game, the ign score, the difference between those two, year of release, genre, and console I played it on. It's a pretty meditative practice all things considered. Also means I can make graphs of all that info.

That is not possible unless you play very few games (less than 1000 per year).

I get what you mean because I already keep spreadsheets for other aspects of my life.
In fact, I just finished writing my journal entry for today, and I'm going to bed. Good night.

Since the month of July I have played:
>Nightreign
>Dread Delusion
>Labyrinth of the Demon King
>Wuchang
>Kenshi

And since I have recently become unemployed, the amount of time I have been able to dedicate to playing these games has been staggering.

You need to play at least a hundred different games per month to count as a real gamer.

I'm up to 300 a month. That's beaten, too. Not just played.

Speaking as an oldfag, yes. But I love going back and playing games that I haven't played in 10+ years. The longer the better, in fact, because it feels like playing it for the first time again except there's also this thick coating of nostalgia. It's good shit.

also >>>/vr/ starts to feel more like home.
