More likely they seem to have planned to turn 9 into something of a franchise, it even received a special tab on their stores. A remake, a tv series and other spin off stories, the crossovers with other games. They just released a prequel story about Vivi too. But clearly this whole project went through the classic SQEX hellscape and may well have not survived.

Yep, they even announced Zidane in their new action figure line out of nowhere a while ago. At this point, SE isn’t even trying to hide it I don’t know why they haven’t announced the remake already. What’s interesting about this toy line is that Lightning and Noctis are also included, while Clive is nowhere in sight. This can only mean one thing: the upcoming remasters.

A XIII Trilogy remaster was already expected, but I’m not sure how an XV remaster would even work. They can’t just toss the DLC into a blender and call it a ‘complete edition’ again.
