I just saw this movie recently and after thinking about it for a bit I came to realize that this movie tackles a lot of similar subjects to what happens in YIIK and does it like a 1000x better.
It has me thinking. Have the devs ever watched a Charlie Kaufman movie? because I feel like if they studied him they'd be on the right track.

I can hardly imagine the YIIK devs watching Synecdoche, New York it'd probably cause them a fucking aneurism with the metanarrative surreal dialogue shit. Synecdoche, New York is the one kino that actually fucked me up bad and made me stare at wall while having a severe existential crisis.

The aesthetics are indeed a massive boon. With the caveat of YIIK's own wacky artstyle and fully saturated technicolor palette. Frankly, the best part of the new version, can recommend to anybody who thought Hylics and Middens were cool.
