Megaman, who was designed with this comparable ability, had to likely have this ability reduced because if it happened in enemy territory he would have been screwed. you can see the result in rolls ability to constantly worry and engage in unexpected behavior such as having feelings for her brother. that fanfic made me so fucking angry over what they did to roll that I created an autistic fanfic of my own where roll becomes meguca and eventually evolves into the mother elf. or roll is rebuilt from scratch as a mechaneloid and enters the maverick wars as a spare gun with white long hair (color faded from uv exposure) with gameplay options where you can erase more and more of whats left of DLN02 for weapon upgrades or choose to play a harder game to hold onto the past
