Classic GOW felt almost like a Greek/Roman story. Nu-GOW felt like one of those lame post-Campbell stories. I think they should keep the gameplay from the new one and ditch that plot, but this is a corporate game, and they'll never do that.

This is especially retarded considering Kratos told her his life's story but she told him basically nothing. Pretty much everything Atreus knows was taught to him by Faye but this begs the question what the fuck was Kratos doing for almost twenty years? Was he just sitting in his being grumpy? Even after Faye died Kratos knew almost nothing about the current realm he's in despite Faye knowing practically everything. Why didn't she tell him anything? Uh yeah, that's the whole fucking point of his character arc. Kratos does plenty of brooding right before he an heroes, and that's after the forgiveness dream sequence. Kratos may have released hope into the world, but he still had to make peace with himself when his suicide doesn't stick. Kratos can't just drop the baggage of his nature and his past. It makes sense that Kratos would keep his distance from other people, especially his son, given his track record. It makes sense that he'd isolate himself from the world, because bad things happen when Kratos starts doing too much

I had a guy break his friendship with me because I told him the new GoW games are fucking dogshit but when he asked if I "played" them I just said I don't have to since I can just watch them on YouTube like they're movies due to how little real gameplay they have and that I can form my opinion on it without actually "playing" since I can tell the story is shit from the scenes I see online, and he immediately seethed at that cause apparently I can't judge a "game" unless I literally wasted money and time playing it. Then he basically just removed and blocked me telling me I need to "grow up" and "mature", very likely the two main things the games kept telling him that he should do himself so he just preaches that to anyone who disagrees with him.
