I don't hate him, he's just kinda dull hecause he's so overpowered. DC heroes outside of Batman/Teen Titans are kind of shit in general, their villains are the strong characters.

In my mind 'the' superman media was TAS and in that frame of mind I don't get how anyone could call superman overpowered considering he constantly gets his ass kicked.

a supes game where you defend metropolis and when you fail you don't die obviously since it's supes you just get sent back to the fortress of solitude to regain your health from the yellow sun and the enemies you didn't defeat respawn

Superman's powerlevel over time is WILDLY inconsistent. Which Superman do you want to play? A Superman out of Dragonball Z, who fights the King of Apokalips who is the most strongest and baddest evil dude in the entire universe? Or a Superman out of the 1950s Adventures of Superman, who sometimes can be outwitted/defeated/depowered(temporarily) by some random-ass guy with a home chemistry set or WITH THIS REALLY COOL NEW REFRIGERATOR, WE CAN SEAL AWAY SUPERMAN'S POWERS!?

Excellently written Lex and excellently performed by Hoult. I have a lot of complaints about the movie, but he made up for many of them with his performance.
