why remake when you can port?

Playing Morrowind for the first time.
I'm using OpenMW, but no other mods.
I gotta ask, is this normal? I get swarmed by entire hordes of enemies whenever I'm exploring.

You can't really say you actually played elder scrolls until you had a train run on you by cliff racers. It's a rite of passage. Afterwards just mod them out. They are bullshit.

That's the Morrowind welcome party, anon. The game assumes you're either a lost god or a very unlucky Dunmer tourist. Get used to being dive-bombed by cliff racers and ambushed by diseased kagoutis. It's tradition.

It is an ashlander camp, there are some neutral tame cliffracers there. You need to do a quest for the wise woman.

The year is 2025 and I still do not understand the problem people have with cliff racers.
Their only stat is speed so they dodge a lot. Which does nothing at all when you set them on fire. That's it. Why is everyone constantly bitching about them?

I was never chased around by a million cliff racers like in the memes and clips. Maybe two at best.
The most annoyance I got from that was when they inevitably get stuck on some rock while I'm hundreds of meters away. Battle music still plays, can't rest.
