Can someone explain to me why people still say bad things about Bannerlord? Is there anything that makes Warband superior besides mods?

Gameplay wise, the combat is smoother and more responsive in Warband unlike the sluggishness in Bannerlord. Other than that, Bannerlord is an improvement overall.

I installed mods and then it didnt launch

people got tricked into buying the exact same game for the 3rd time and finely got wise to it.

The character building system is dogshit
The ability to choose equipment in multiplayer was removed in favor of e-sports standardized presets trash
The combat got absolutely ruined in every possible way imaginable. Every, and I really mean EVERY change made to it has had huge repercussions and became a subject of numerous exploits

I mean vanilla Bannerlord is alright, I like it more than vanilla Warband.
But I don't play vanilla in the first place, so why should this matter? There's only 2 solid (though still unfinished) conversion mods for Bannerlord. I have played them both already. There are dozens of more complete Warband mods, many of which I still haven't played. There's just not much reason for me to play Bannerlord over them.

pretty much the one thing I will say warband has on bannerlord is the way warband incentives you to interact with other lords and there is much more depth to those interactions

honestly this aspect of warband admittedly can get a little bit tedious at times and is still pretty mare bones, but having is better than nothing I think

overall though bannerlord is just so much nicer to play

my theory is that bannerlord would be improved by nerfing influence gain majorly, and shifting focus to gaining influence from interacting with other lords, and then fleshing out those interactions a bit

if they did just that one thing, I think the game would be a true 10/10

another thing, instead of just spending influence on a vote to tip in in your favour, you should have to go around and convince people to vote the way you want them to if they arent already, and there needs to be more dynamic things like lords deciding to hate you and slowly becoming more and more bitter enemies like in warband because thats not only fun but also helps keep things balanced

It's the Dragon's Dogma vs Dragon's Dogma 2 thing, but even dumber.
Bannerlord is 100% an upgrade from Warband in almost every conceivable way, but the playerbase whines about Bannerlord every five seconds because It's just Warband but better, rather than being a completely different fucking AAA game or something.
