It's honestly not bad, especially when removing the slowmo and increasing the game speed. Not great like 2016, or excellent like Eternal. Just good.

It feels like nu doom fell into a trap of modern diminishing returns and long dev cycles. in the past a trilogy would have either gotten cranked out in the span of a single console gen or it would have undergone a next gen transformation or the pc equivalent leap in tech to break it up. with 2016's marketing leadup it's been ~12 years of basically the same shit.
say what you will about nu god of war but choosing to cut their losses with a duology was probably the right choice, I couldn't imagine waiting another 5 years just for more of the same after ragnarok. I really don't think straightforward, neat trilogies are the way to go anymore, dev times are too long for it to not get stale.
