The ex-wow dev is Ghostcrawler, he was the lead dev from like wrath to mop I think. What's wild is he has no professional training in video game development, he just started out making age of empires maps and somehow met someone working at Blizzard and got hired.

It's definitely an MMO, in the demo they're playing in a "blue shard" which is like a little self-contained instance. The "red shard" is the MMO part with thousands of players.
Now that I think about it the blue shards are really just like dungeons and raids in WoW except with some procedural generation.

Uh, yes. That UI is extremely basic and if they designed their workflow properly it should be easy to make changes to it.
UI is probably one of the few things you can be assured will get multiple passes in development.

Fortnite is actually a much more interesting case. Bluehole, the guys who made pubg, used fortnite's devs to help code or their servers to help host the game during development for testing or some shit, I forgot the specifics, but when fortnite saw their idea they started copying it and fortnite came out with the same concept like a year after pubg.

It's nostalgia. There is not many new players to WoW, classic just captures people's nostalgia for the game because its 20 years old now. And it's easier to play that game when you have kids because of the pacing of it.
