Its kind of surprising how little Gehenna has in terms of plot despite both its size and how present it is in other academy's stories.
Sure they are active during event stories but any volume featuring them prominently would almost certainly need political infighting like the events of the Eden treaty within Trinity and I dont think retreading that same space would be a satisfying story to tell, especially since chaos and infighting is sort of the norm for them anyway.
Closest we've seen to coordination amongst the gehenna factions was relegated to an afterward when makoto and hina were unilaterally on board with destroying the train cannon in abydos, so Id expect any gehenna story to focus on that former leader's legacy in some way, rather than being an entire comic relief volume with hinawank to go with it.

I always had the impression that the Arius district was foggy, cold, pretty much entirely all ruins, and probably either located inside a fuck-huge crater or partially underground. Maybe it's located next to Red Winter of all schools? If Arius exists inside a valley I could accept that as a reason why no one really was able to survey the land accurately since helicopters can only go so high due to the density of atmosphere. Junko and Marina need to activate their skills first, once they drop below HP threshold. But they can still die during the skill animation, before the effect activates. They can also be one-shot.

We were discussing it in a thread about a month ago and i stated that an Arius volume is highly unlikely. Well, i stand corrected. Curious how they're gonna retcon these new girls into existence to explain why they never appeared during volume 3 and how what we know as "Arius Squad" fit into all this. Did Arius deserve a volume over any of the other academies? Fuck no. Arius is not an academy. It's a pack of rats who live in an elaborate underground labyrinth, they barely count as a club by BA standards. Then again, we had a Rabbit volume, which isn't even a proper SRT volume, so whatever. The way the scene was written it's as if Suou knew that Hoshino was capable of becoming Hoshino Terror, and was trying to push her to making that sort of contact with the Chroma. But again I ask: why?
The only pattern we have so far is that both Hoshino and Shiroko have heterochromia, distinguished by it being the iris or pupil. And Suou once her eyepatch is off also has heterochromatic eyes, so that seems like some sort of connection but if the goal of this character was to invoke the terror and bring about the end of times, it doesn't really make sense for this to be the character to poke and prod at Hoshino's insecurity and guilt if she herself is already meant to be implied to have some sort of ties with it already. What makes it all the more disappointing that the story waited for Hina to arrive before pushing Hoshino to her physical limit when the writer could have easily used this newly-established antagonistic character to stab at her guilt and insecurity.

So I've always wondered this and now that I'm playing, I did notice at least one example in Rio's winter sprite.

Frankly way I'm looking at it, they've got another chapter of Caerbannog to release to settle that + give us the FOX squad, then a vol in Gehenna (much as people don't want more Hina) about the president Hina and Makoto overthrew.

If you're a completionist you're already unable to get 100% due to the collab limited characters never getting reruns.
As for currently-limited characters, prioritize them when you can. And the unfortunate reality is that strategically waiting for fest is the best way to get the most potential for your pyros unless you're a god of luck that can make pulls willy nilly during any banner and get who you want. But take full advantage of the pity system allowing you to guarantee results.
Take note of who has elephs that are farmable in hard mode missions, and the various event shops, collect what you can and bruteforce them if they don't spook you.
Also the legacy banner or whatever it's gonna be called will be introduced in the next fest on global. A buncha characters are being moved from the general pool into a legacy pool that has recruitment points that never expire, so you'll eventually be able to guarantee you get all of them (but the dastardly bastards they are, it costs pyros to pull from this separate general banner). Make of this what you will.
I'm in a similar boat as you. I would've preferred if the game let me unlock additional party members to recruit like in an RPG but the gacha components and scarcity of resources and energy is what drives so many of the systems. I would've paid normal game price for something like that for a game I can play at my own pace, but the amount of money that whales throw at these types of games makes it a fairly straightforward business decision to make.
All I hope for is when EoS eventually happens (it's nexon so it'll probably still be kicking decade+ later like MS is), that they let us run private server instances.
