Why is the story so boring?
Is it because the story revolves over an NPC instead of us, the MC?
Yes, I know it's a monhun game where the story isn't that important.
But I remember when we were investigating Gore's aids and how it made monsters became frenzied. Or when we were investigating the New World and tracking Zorah.
In Wilds it feels like we are just escorting this indian child. It also feels like it wouldn't matter if we aren't the one escorting him. His problem seems too "small" if the guild can only afford two hunters to be his guards.

I have 200 hours in Wilds so far and I think the talisman update is pretty good even if I haven't found very many because there's now a reason to fight every endgame monster instead of raping arkveld ten billion times to death.
At the same time though I wonder Ryozo has become sick with stress and hasn't been eating his meals because of how much of a massive disaster this game is. Perhaps his balls might become inert soon. I wonder how much he's even played an MH game in general. I feel like how out of touch the developers are to the franchise they're working on is almost at the level of the Saints Row reboot, just for different reasons. Wilds has some good ideas but a lot of bad ones, a lot of unintuitive concepts that seem like they were left in only because they would have to abandon a lot of work if they dropped them. It's truly amazing how the Seikret, the spiritual successor of the Dog™ in somehow worse in every way imaginable. By the way, isn't it curious that Elden Ring Nightreign's flow is actually surprisingly similar to Risebreak's but for some reason people shit on Rise for the same things Nightreign does? Weird. I wonder if the MH team will learn to take notes from it. It'll probably be for worse though, just like when they decided to copy several meaningless concepts from The Witcher 3 and FFXIV, which are both games they had collabs with in World.

I might be the minority but I actually really like the wound system Wilds has, it was just poorly implemented on launch (like almost everything else).
