while i am partial to GOGs stance on games preservation and would like to support their particular business model i much prefer the archive's method - free and available for all to download at fast speeds
this ensures preservation more readily than behind a pay wall even if GOG has some madly good sales every once in a while

Some of them are fun despite all the bullshit. Some are multiplayer only with no lan component and are only on steam. Some are sold with drm. If the game is dependent on online drm (like steam) then its essentially a long term rental and i dont feel any bad at all for buying a key.
