It's a bad game for numerous reasons. I'm only just focusing on how horrible it makes people feel to play. Not to mention actually playing it. The game sold gangbusters because it was a sequel to a game of the year winner. Nobody knew before hand how bad it would fuck the characters and story up or how the games gameplay was 99% the exact same except now with Prone and Jump buttons to replace the context sensitive button that would have filled that role anyway. People were hoping for Factions 2. Told it's never coming because Druckmann used GaaS as an excuse when nobody gave a fuck in the first place on whether it was or not.
If you want to know how everyone actually feels about TLoU2. Look at the TV show. Everyone loved season 1. The moment it made it to season 2 and beyond everyone hated it. So the hatred for TLoU2 is clearly justified as even normies couldn't stomach that shit.

I'm just accurately describing the game, retard. Torture porn means something is made for you to enjoy the torture. The characters are thoroughly miserable and suffering during the whole game and they all end up either broken or dead.

All the suffering doesn't even have a good point at the end, there isn't good character development or a smart plot. The point of the game is suffering, therefore torture porn.

I fail to see how this is a bad thing. It's like complaining that The Road, Manchester by the Sea or Lilya 4-ever were depressing. The fact that it makes you feel strongly that way is part of what makes it great. Same with the story, it was subversive, sure, but if you don't think Joel had it coming then idk what to tell you. Plus they were planning to kill him from the very start no matter what..and from what they say in the Behind the scenes, in far more gruesome ways. Yeah, you're not supposed to "enjoy" the story the same way as you're not supposed to enjoy the movies i mentioned. But feeling fucked up while experiencing is part of the appeal, for me. Not everything needs to be Devil May Cry. This cutscene alone made me feel more emotions than any video game i played since like Mass Effect, or maybe Death Stranding 1. Who said anything about TLOU? We are talking about 2. TLOU 1 is far and above an amazing game. Simply because Druckmann was tard wrangled the entire time. Then it went from a 9/10 to a 8/10 because he was left unsupervised and made the "Left Behind". Which added nothing other than tell you Ellie was gay for no fucking reason.
Also Game is in the sub-genre of "movie game". TLoU2 is was designed from the ground up to not be fun to play. Thus the game part was shoehorned in. It's an interactive movie more than a game. At least the first one had factions and a 1/6th as many walk and talk sequences than 2.
