Doing an SL1 run, explored everywhere before doing any fogs. My goal is to kill Leaf, as thats the only thing you can't repeat in loops, so I can't go North.
You can get enough of the mid/higher ore shit without fighting a single boss to push a weapon to +10. Theres an Ore Slab outside Snow White Castle. HOWEVER you'll only have a weapon to +1 for a while because you need 9 Ore Shards, and without killing Hyena theres only about 4 when you need 9 Ore Shards to reach the next tier. Theres enough ore shards in the mine I think, and once I get that I can really screw around.
I know you can just parry him to death but I thought this was funny with all the shit her ring puts on him.

The desert bonfire is just slightly south and to the west of the entrance. From the bonfire, you can head directly southwest towards the pyramid and pick up the book from the fight. From there you can head south to reach the exit of the desert, or head west from that exit to reach the oasis. From the oasis, head towards the top part of it and head west again to find the rose.

There is no "winning" the war for the niggermen, the war itself is basically just MAD because it'll wake up niggerman prime in the process and delete fucking everything. So far they're mostly split into "don't care, fuck you getting mine" and "don't trust you, fuck off" when it comes to warnings about it from Mabel. It's the main reason why Mabel wants (You) to awaken as a creator, to stop the war before it spirals out of control and prevent the universe from getting fucked. Destroying GG is important because it allows Grimm to obtain the Power to Change, even if his current vessel is completely unable to use it. The gist of BS3 is using our Power to Change in a newly acquired vessel, taking care of the other author niggers, and starting to break and enter into other gardens and take the heads of the leaders of the war efforts.

If you enjoy the meta aspect of BS1 and the secrets in the world you will find 2 very satisfying.

1 is better at having a coherent party (2 is solo only, there are no summonable party members other than single use 'phantoms' that you can think of as gold summon signs right at a fog gate) and thus character development. It also feels more like a traditional RPG when it comes to the combat system. 2 is all about weapon switching and gets a little bit more into build autism.

Both are very good games and I think that 1 is underrated because it is of a smaller scope and more straightforward than BS2. I don't think it's odd at all to prefer 1.
