I was also a cosplayer and we met when we were cosplaying from the same franchise. She had a BF at the time but we became friends, talked a lot, and got together after they broke up - or so I thought, I have reason to believe that she cheated with me before the actual breakup, while lying to me about her relationship status, and I strongly suspect she did the same thing with the next guy.
I'm not doing great, to be honest. It's hard to convey how fucked up things got between us and it did permanent psychological damage. I've gotten my shit together in some aspects but my confidence and ability to trust women or put myself out there for relationships has never recovered, and in over 12 years since the breakup I've only had sex a few times and never had an actual relationship. Not sure I ever will, I'm turning 39 in a few days so I'm pretty much out of time anyway.
