Im no expert but you could try something like Obody with all the armor set to "zeroed sliders" in bodyslide then in-game you choose the bodyslide preset you want them to have. The armor should morph to fit the preset. Though extreme proportions can have some clipping errors.

I think obody works with whatever body mods you have as long as the bodyslide stuff was processed accordingly.

yes things like a small patch of skin showing. for me it happened a lot for things like lingerie, tight pants in general. Especially when sneaking since the animation for sneaking is different on my game.

I cant be specific since I dont know the followers you are using, but I can just tell you how I have things set up. I use 3ba for female bodies, and obody uses a 300 preset mod to distribute bodies to women. If you need immersion I wouldnt recommend what im doing because on occasion it chooses some...extreme presets. Hilarious when it happens though.

When I use bodyslide, everything 3ba-related is built using zeroed sliders, and that makes everything obody does scale accordingly. If I ever need to change someones preset I just hit O while pointing at them and choose what I want from a list. (also works on yourself).
