It's a series with absolutely nowhere to go, where the logical conclusion of the premise had already been explored by the second movie (what if the dinos came to human cities?) but they keep putting it out year after year because people keep going to see it. It is one of the only remaining movie franchises that continues to be profitable at the box office.

None of the sequels have ever been interested in exploring the philosophy of the original film, either, about how you shouldn't play God and how nature cannot be controlled. They're all just shitty monster movies with bad CGI.
