I say this as a Sonic fan (go ahead and laugh) but it was probably because most people who played it only played the fucking prologue before getting frustrated or bored with it.
This game looks really cool visually but it's super fucking bad to play, I'd take 06 or Forces any day over this.

Isn't it the only other game to get a fan remake, besides 06. And I'm not talking about some fan game that gets all the physics mechanics wrong, uses some pre-made framework in Unity or Unreal, and with only one level implemented.

Has the worst start of any Sonic game. They make you go extremely slow, and even backing up has to be unlocked with some grinding. If progression was story based it would be fine though unconventional.

This game is only remotely fun after you've already beat it and unlock the upgrades that make the game actually playable, and even then that's a stretch.

It wasn't any good. The hype for this game was that people were hyped for the Wii, and thus they were excited to play sonic on the Wii. And then the game sucked
