Yes. When I was about 11y/o and trying to get all gold-medals on Pilot Wings 64. Specifically the mission with the hang-glider on the arctic map where you dive down through the ravine going through the rings, and then have to pull out hard and land perfectly on the top of a plateau. I tried it so many times and the run has to be so perfect, one of my close runs I chimped-out, and struck the center of my N64 controller into the grate of the N64 like I was fucking simon belmont trying to kill a vampire. Luckily the system didn't break, and I took a break, and reflected a bit on my anger. Still funny now and then when I look at the system and see the damage.

I had a few friends with similar interests throughout school, it's actually not that uncommon to find black kids into Nintendo and anime and shit - most kids were to some degree. But honestly, no one cared that much what you were into. If you keep your head down, people literally don't even see you, no matter where you are in life. And a lot of people were mature enough to be nice to you by HS, believe it or not.
