I hated the Zero Suit for years, but I've softened on it recently. I could never pinpoint exactly why, but I've realized that I didn't hate the suit, I hated this stupid hairstyle. It didn't help that my first exposure was Prime 2, and the devs are on record saying they made that model look like shit on purpose. If you can give Other M any sort of credit, they haven't used these fucked up bangs ever since.

I think the my favourite part was the boss fights, and how they rewarded brute force (with good aim). You're encouraged the fire as many Super Missles into the enemy as possible.

a few screens to the left, past the waterfall, there's a room with a wooden bridge like that where you'll find the Herald Shield and a switch protruding from the left wall (you can see the switch pressed in pic related.) Pressing in the switch summons a skeleton ape, who promptly destroys the bridge with his attack.

I wouldn't really call it promptly, he's half the room over and can easily waste his barrel before he gets close enough. Also I never even realized that pressing that switch spawned him. That's a strange thing for it to do.

No no, this is a different room. It's true that the skeleton ape won't appear near the first bridge until you hit this, but one spawns in the room with you right after you hit the switch, and demonstrates blowing up one bridge so you'll know the other one can be destroyed too. It's a lot like this room in Super Metroid that shows you that the glass pipe can be destroyed, with the exception that it's already broken and doesn't require help from an enemy.
