I just beat the game (end b) and holy shit is it painful to do a new game plus and try to do everything right afterwards. Even after getting mega OP, grim still walks so slow and has to deal with mob enemies. I know hidden counteracts that a bit, but it's still not enough. I'm concerned if this issue becomes exacerbated in BS2. Grimm, at a certain point, should just be allowed to run like the bunny and just immediately kill any enemy that's too under leveled for him.

This "game" is completely overhyped bullshit. Your first boss fight is a fucking dragon, literally 5 minutes in, with no opportunity to upgrade your stats. His health bar is 20x your size and he has an unavoidable attack that one shots you. I know you're supposed to die to get to the hub area, but I HATE the concept of unwinnable fights with a passion. I was about to drop it right then and there, but decided to give it one more chance. I looked up a guide and picked up the hidden rings that increase your soul and item drop rates and grinded for an hour. It was extremely fucking annoying at first because you only get 1 ring slot, so I could only equip one and I had to discard combat-oriented rings, which made this whole thing last way longer than it should. Then I went north to that forest and found a weird plant that gives you a spray for fairies. I came back to try it out and oh God how can anyone with a right mind fap to this? But I admit raping those cunt fairies to death over and over again was fun, the only bit of fun I had so far. So anyway back on track. Most enemies the forest were dying in one hit, unless they dodged (again fucking pissing me off) Untill suddenly music starts playing and out of fucking nowhere comes a knight on a horse and absolutely wrecks me, before I even have a chance to make a move. What the fuck? Rinse, repeat 7 times and each fucking time I die I have to walk all the way back through 3 areas, just like in a souls game, but unlike a souls game I have to fight EVERY SINGLE ENEMY on the way, BECAUSE NOBODY THOUGHT OF ADDING SOMETHING AS BASIC AS RUN FUNCTION. But that one time the creator's incompetence actually proved useful. Enemies sometimes get stuck on terrain and I managed to get that knight stuck long enough for me to walk to the next area and thank God there was a bonfire there. The normal ending you're most likely to get first (B) will literally direct you straight to C. D is the DLC ending and is started by going past a fog gate in the fuckhuge poison swamp, you'll know it when you see it. Being DLC content you can probably expect to be walled until you do most of the main game shit.

You really shouldn't need to for BS1, but there's one requirement for C that you can potentially brick yourself on until you try again in NG+. Just revive Jeanne as soon as you get the chance to.

Evade and Parry are broken but won't solve everything. Overall the game really isn't that hard, especially since you've gotten the Drake Sword which more or less solves the early and mid game. If you feel like you're steamrolling shit a bit too hard feel free to pump up the difficulty a bit with the statue north of the Holy Forest, though it's just stat bloat for the enemies.

This one took a while, I don't think it can be done without this sort of set up, I needed both her ring so I get 2 turns AND 2 Wind God Rings, otherwise her phase 2 speed boosts just go too damn fast. Ultimately its fishing for poison, but I kept tossing Resins on because otherwise I do 0 damage. In order to do damage to her it has to both be an attack buffed by resin + a crit.

Now I have that desert boss, Satyr, and maybe Miranda the only girl you can recruit before going up I think? left before Leaf.

I'd say my own criticism is that I really only enjoy the gameplay in the first cycle for Black Souls 1 and 2. Does increasing the difficulty impact boss patterns/AI or is purely stats? I wish there was a way to keep that magic I felt exploring the first time, I think they need more changes during the first few cycles or randomized changes to keep things fresh.
