So I just finished this for the first time.
I know people always say "quirky earthbound inspired rpgs" about shit like undertale and omori etc. and that they also say they were inspired by this game.

But how the hell did no one in 20 years tell me this game was also inspired by earthbound?
Unless I missed it.
Like there's literally an NES earthbound beginnings area.
There's a magicant area, there's a moonside area etc.
Like out of all of them this one LITERALLY has the most earthbound out of all of them, and it's not even an rpg.

People who spout the eartbound-inspired shit over and over don't actually play the games they claim are inspired by it. They hear that OFF is a surrealist RPG and think that means it's inspired by earthbound (it isn't), so they naturally hear that Yume Nikki is just an aesthetic walking simulator and assume it isn't inspired by earthbound (it is, and old 2ch threads from way back when had jap players pointing this out)

.flow is the popular choice, it has a first and second half of the game that you should keep separate saves for
Personal recommendation: Neftelia. They have very little documentation, but there is a Let's Play you can cross reference if you can't find everything you need to finish the game.
