I play protoss because I can mass carriers :D
Sometimes it seems like I'm the only starcraft player who picks the race that gives me the best chance of winning. If I talk to a protoss player he will say that protoss is the worst, if I talk to a terran player he will say terran is the worst, and if I talk to a zerg player he will say zerg is the worst.

Both in SC:BW and SC2, protoss is probably the easiest race to play for low level players, and it stays very strong all the way up to amateur levels.

It only starts to fall apart against 400 APM pro level micro and build orders with precision down to a few seconds. Like the optimized hydralisk busts that pro players pull off 10 seconds before you have your psi storm, or insane vulture and tank micro with instant goliath switch and punish the moment you build a fleet beacon for carriers.

Agreed for Brood War, can't comment on SC2 since I only ever played like an hour of that game.

Protoss is really easy for newbies since the micro isn't too intensive, but it gets hella hard once you try to master shit like:
1 - Reaver+shuttle micro
2 - Corsair micro, especially versus scourge
3 - Proper psi storm usage and cloning
etc. etc.
Which is why I only ever play Protoss vs CPU since it's my weakest race.
