Why are Japanese developers so bad at advertizing their games compared to Korean and Chinese? Countless of Japanese games never get released worldwide or we have to wait years for it while Koreans can release their gooner slop gacha games in 3 months globally.

Japanese people tend to think they are completely different from the rest of the world and other countries might not like what they make. They were selling rights for their anime for dirt cheap because they thought nobody would watch them and didn't expect westerners to like them.

they focus on the domestic market since it's so large

korea is a much, much smaller country so they're more export driven. It's not just videogames, Korea works really hard to export in pretty much all of their industries due to their small and shrinking domestic consumer base

China also has a huge domestic market but they're a lot like Japan in the 80s right now in that we're only seeing a small proportion of their output, but because they're larger to begin with we still end up seeing a lot of Chinese stuff

Japanese devs hate you and don't want you to play their game if you are not Japanese. If you're lucky, a few years later they'll hand it off to some shitty studio like Amazon to handle the global launch for them. They'll allow said company to mutilate their game as they wish, because who cares what the non-Japanses consumer gets to play. They are losing their cultural hegemony to the Chinese. And it's not even about the quality of the product, but that one will ask you to play their game and make it easy to do so. While the other will spit in your face, tell you to wait 10 years and you might get the game, and if you try to play the game earlier, they'll put more effort into keeping you from their servers than it would've took them to just launch the game globally themselves.

Japan is definitely has its fair share of issues. But chink and gook shit is mostly gatchashit and MMOslop, most of which is only popular because of a very low entry barrier, both from hardware, software and skill points of view. A part of it is that Japs absolutely suck at English even compares to Chinks and Koreans. Another probably more significant part is that they are way more conservative and cautious. They don't wanna rock the boat of what works with yuge risks.
