It's actually a very similar situation. Sumo Digital were the ones who took over Dead Island 2 from Yager on behalf of Deep Silver, but they got fired and replaced by Dambuster. Sumo then approached Paradox with an offer to take over Bloodlines 2, but instead of developing it themselves they had The Chinese Room, whom they owned, do it.

The budget stuff must be interesting because, for example, Hardsuit made like 100+ fully articulated, fully detailed character models. TCR them salvaged thoses and reworked them a bit. But it would cost thousands, potentially low millions to make over a hundred totally unique character models from a major outsource dev. They have been able to recycle some very expensive materials.

It won't be delayed, they have a publishing deal with Dark Horse to release the concept art book in November and Rik Schaffer on his instagram said his compositions for Bloodlines 2 are releasing in October on Spotify etc. They also paid the Gameinformer crew to come out to their studio and do a cover piece on them.

So, broken or not it's releasing in October as Paradox is done with this shipwreck.

The bloodlines game itself featured a curb stomping elder vampire in all but name, without explanation. Nobody gave fuck about VTMB "action" part, combat was dogshit, most hated part of the game is part that is 100% focused on combat and most people prefer to skip it next time.
Yes I know good writting is hard, especially in year 2025. But character progression was straight up from paper rpg with dots, just disciplines were tweaked to fit computer game.
Also clans, we had all major camarilla clans, with only malk and nos having diferent gameplay and tremere having bigger ammount of special dialogues with single character, rest clans had some odd special dialogue here and there and diferent disciplines, outside malk it's not hard to do.
