I had the same issue as this reddit fag. My sister came to visit with my niece. I tried to give her my Switch so she could play Mario Oyseey, that 3D Kirby game, etc. on it. She'd rather play Roblox and Jeet made mobile slop on her IPad though. Gen Alpha is fucked. Brain rot took over some of my siblings as adults, and now the kids are starting before they can properly read.

But you're never going to get the kid audience you used to, and even back in 2005 Reggie said it was a bad idea due to population decline. Very few live service games can claim to be anywhere as successful as Hoyo's. Most fail out the gate from poor planning or oversaturation, and even Hoyo is starting to run into the issue of its fans being too invested into Genshin and HSR to try out their other games.
Regular games don't have the same kind of return, but they're reliable so long as it's not a western publisher calling the shots.
