>fantasy game has aliens in it
How? Why? Elements of science-fiction do not belong in fantastical environments.

>I listen to the Conan short stories, while I work out and in one of them he visits a tower of an evil Sorcerer, who is holding a huge elephant-man hostage, who explains to Conan that he is from outer space and flew to his world with wings, which his race last and lived on his planet for far longer than the current iteration of civilization even existed.
>In the Might & Magic games you have an intergalactic network of planets being joined together and having access to very advanced tech and magic, but it degenerated into a standard fantasy world after the Ancients had to cut the network.
>In Sword & Sorcery you often had authors try to make their world scientifically consistent and give hints that magic might just be science and that some ruins might be built by aliens, not Gods.
The desire to have a pure magical fantasy world, unsullied by science and technology, is a degeneration of the fantasy genre.

Should angels be reclassified as aliens and be banned from fantasy.
Because the two aliens you posted are really far from fucking standard flying saucer material.

Star Trek is fantasy too then.

FUCK you OP, it's kino.

Nothing better than playing a fun fantasy game where a new set of worldbuilding rules arrive and you come to understand the setting - only for something to be introduced that even the goblins and elves and dorfs can't comprehend. It's kino and fun and you are a faggot and should DIE

Yes.
It's high time you learned that the term "fantasy" doesn't actually denote anything at all.

Plenty of fantasy settings have extraterrestrials. They simply get to the planet with magic instead of technology.

Even ignoring the meta narrative between games it's not disguised at all. The vaulters are well aware they came from another planet.

What says they can't just teleport or plane-hop between worlds?
There's nothing inherently science about a creature coming to a planet from outside the planet.
Besides, aren't demons from whatever hell also aliens?
Anonymous No.718478614
>>718477794
Demons are entirely magical/spiritual in origin, they don't come from some other planet. Calling them aliens because they invade from somewhere else is just splitting hairs.

Because nothing immediate for the betterment of Germany came of it. Maybe you'll have more seats for the right party in a generation but your daughters are still being raped by NAFRIs.

Even in the first edition of DnD you had aliens. There was an entire campaign set in an abandoned UFO turned dungeon.

No shit. It was just young people having innocent fun.

That's England, not Germany. We don't have the same problems as the UK. The police in our country does a great job, but the judges don't punish hard enough. In the UK it's also the police, who is refusing to do anything in migrant communities. Don't treat us like we are all the same. Europe is a big place.

Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
One might think the Cthulhu mythos is sci-fi because of the aliens and space shit, but their abilities and actions are magical in nature.
Wizardry and Might & Magic both started out as fantasy but eventually evolved into sci-fi, because it's the same shit.

yeah, another shit trope bequeathed to american autists by lotr, fuck lotr, it all stems from the anglo misinterpretation of german romanticism as a kind of primitivism.

I know im gonna catch heat for this but 'traditional fantasy' models only work under the cosmogony that the Earth is covered in a dome and its all we have. thats the model under which those ancient myths were created, what youre seeing is the logical consequence of working a model cosmogony model into ancient trad fantasy and working backwards then the logical conclusion would be since there are many worlds then magic is explained via ancient aliens and aliens are doing lotr fantasy epics on other worlds too so magic is just alien advanced tech and the writers who are always SOI soft-lads think they are geniuses for this every time. Its even in dungeons and dragons/baulders gate. Its in practically every modern fantasy they literally cant help themselves. And irl real people who believe in ancient aliens essentially share a version of this thinking but have to concede we just 'havent found them yet'
