Wasn't PC Gaming supposed to be cheaper and better than consoles?

They way to do this is to buy a Facebook Marketplace PC for $500 and then replace the GPU. If you were set on a RX7600 that brings the cost down to under $800, but if you're big brained you pick up a used 3090/3080Ti/6[8,9]00XT and still be under $1200. If you have an old PC to cannibalize for cases and fans and maybe some DDR4 you can build the whole rig for the cost of a used GPU. People practically give away AM4/LGA1700 parts.

PC gaming is cheaper if you are looking at unit sales of games, the cost of using your own internet that you've already paid for, cost of peripherals, as well as the longevity of the system and perpetual access to games both old and new, on top of the fact that it can do more than just gaming.
Its only a high entry price, but thats hardly an issue if you arent poor and stupid.

Cheaper? No not really ..it's more valuable
The point of having a PC is doing PC things, not having a large more complex video game device. But on the other hand even if I only played games on my PC it'd still be significantly better than consoles
I can't view game consoles as something an adult has in their house. People who play games a lot and only have consoles confuse me. It's like being a "sneaker head" but you don't have any nikes

This is a meme PC isn't it? You can build a sensible PC with the similar specs for 700 brand new or you can get used parts for around 500.

thats funny, it seems most well adjusted men with families and jobs who have sex on a regular basis are able to own a PC and multiple consoles unlike zoom zooms who are stuck on their forerver games like Fortnite since they can choose to eat or upgrade their parent bought personal computer, or is this a Canadian thing?

A console has no place in an adults house. It's a locked down DRM toy with only casual games

Only if you count long term things like free games and not having to pay for online access. That said it used to be you could get a mostly console comparable budget PC before Nvidia went into their end-game full kikery mode.

Are you wanting suggestions for a build or are you just ragebaiting with whatever retardation is in your screenshot?
You could do something equivalent to the build in the screenshot with used parts for like $300 at this point.

sure in the long run, not the initial cost especially if you want all the best peripherals, a good chair and desk and a high end monitor unlike with a console where you can just use your television
>better
haha, fuck no, maybe with PC-centric games like RTS but zoomers are allergic to traditional PC games so whats the fucking point, everyone knows PC only fats pirate a game, play it for 5 mins then drop it, they’re a fickle bunch and spend more time on imageboards harassing console players or jorking their cocks

I don't actually play games a lot anymore so paying a sub for something as basic as online access seems absurd to me now, especially if you only play a small variety of games. I did it when I had a lot more time and didn't have a PC but I don't anymore. I think I built my first gaming pc in like 2015 and have upgraded a part here or there over the years, it was a shitty cheap budget build that's still trudging along and runs the games I want to play as well as I'd like it to, I'm pretty happy. It definitely gets into expensive territory if you want to play high end cinematic new games and I think consoles might be the better deal there, idk, but I just don't like those games so I am unbothered. When I had a console and no good PC, I felt like I was missing out on a lot of games, old stuff, indie games, PC exclusives, etc, and I was.
I've definitely spent way less money on games since then and have gotten a lot more enjoyment out of it than I would have if I'd kept paying for xbox gold and full priced games or whatever they call it now. I guess consoles are good if you're a normie.

They’re pretty close when you look at the prices of bullshit console does
>newest gen is by default minimum $500
>yearly subscription to use your own internet $20~$50
>AAA exclusives (the main selling point of consoles) are $70~$100
>controllers $70 each
If you bought more than one game you’re already at the price of a prebuilt PCs prices
