The ability to equip and use any piece of gear makes even a plain freelancer surprisingly versatile, and enough prep time can see you through to the end of the game. Lots of items either cast spells or inflict statuses which can come in clutch.
If that were the only restriction he would manage it fine, with a couple tough spots.

Solo runs are already officially recognized by Enchant Farm, and Tactical Mode enforces level caps... Even trash fights can be removed from the game by activating Quick Mode to further limit EXP gains. Wonder what kinds of other challenge runs would be fun for this.

I started watching the 2 one because of this thread. I previously did a solo Maria mage run and the Red Soul was also funnily enough, a highlight of the run, hell I even had Dancing Mad in the background since all I could do was punch the thing to death with my two shields.

I tried a thieves only run of Wonderswan FFI a couple years ago just for the heck of it and it was pure torture.
>your strongest weapons are obtained in the first quarter of the game, the Coral sword is the best weapon available until the Muramasa in the last floor of the final dungeon
>and because it's an early FFI version that means the critical bug won't let you take advantage of the thief's agility and accuracy
>not to mention once you get the items that cast heal the thieves with the weaker weapons are practically forced to become heal bots thus reducing your already miserable damage output even more
>the defense situation is a bit better and evasion helps, specially after getting the white robe and defender sword, but any stray hit or any spell will still decimate your health
>had to abandon the run at chaos because I realized he's impossible to beat unless you re-roll for optimal level-ups and even then he might still be impossible because you'd still only have one attacker and even with the other three healing it's still not enough to sustain the damage Chaos can dish out
The good thing is that upgrading to ninjas did the trick so I could still finish a run of that version, but the experience was enough to sway me away from crazy challenge runs.
With my experience I think he's gotta be fucked in the head to be doing these challenge runs that are a dozen times worse than a thieves only run of FFI but the videos are fun to watch so whatever

I do blind runs of FF games where I have to jack off whenever a girl is defeated imagining what kind of scenario has taken place. I cannot proceed in the story without giving my fap proper context with what the story has lead to so far.
To ensure things aren't too hard or too easy I equip the girls with items they could viably & financially purchase themselves as funds go to gearing the men of the story first. Also, their levels cannot be higher than the men at any given time.
