any news from red candle about any new game? even if its not a "nine sols two" (though what would it be about, even? shuanshuan? ), im still interested in whatever theyre making.
>casually
Not exactly, but yeah. The challenges in Hollow Knight and Undertale Sans shit were self imposed. With Nine Sols, you were at the mercy of a VERY brutal task master.

Woah, you can't link a video game that released after HK, that's cheating, most HK babies never played anything else after that.
HK is a good game but silksong will never be more than HK 1.5, which is fine, but not revolutionary
Though, to be fair, 9S is way more linear than HK. But it still mogs every other aspect
Going to do a no-jade/upgrades run before summer ends, dreading the ass raping eigong is going to give me. >>718498778
They give you some leeway to explore and choose which bosses to fight but yeah it's not really a game you can sequence break like SM

The combat isn't the issue, it's the absolutely shit map design, ridiculous amount of backtracking, and forced souls shit that just detracts from the experience. It's such a tedious slog of a game despite the actual movement and bossfights being solid.

I felt the same way about another metroidvania, it had a lot of unnecessary backtracking and collecting. I feel like the souls formula is detrimental to the genre than actually beneficial.
