It's some sapient abomination's life cycle, and you're just food to them.

It's fiction, a man's fantasy. It always has "bloopers".
It's more about style and atmosphere and a story to tell. If you want full logical coherency, try real world.

How does mining shit from other planets fix a resource shortage? If they've got the tech to do that they could easily build a dyson swarm.

You're trying to find logic in the actions of a cosmic abomination. Why? Just because.

The entire concept of the story is that the brethren moons develop new sentient species with the sole purpose of turning them into food. Literally every single intelligent species in the universe is hard-coded to eventually desire to "become whole".

Was there any way this series could have ended other than "everybody's fucked"?

I know horror usually ends badly for everybody involved, but it's hard to feel as if you're actually accomplishing anything.

>game features giant spaceship built for cracking planets open
>final boss is the size of a moon
Isaac should have cracked those motherfuckers wide open and save the day

Didn't the third game end with Isaac managing to kill a moon? The only thing I read after that is that the DLC ruined that ending, killed Isaac and solidified the fact that humanity was fucked.

those motherfuckers cracked that entire spaceship with a SINGLE unit.

Yeah the DLC did undo the "good ending", but it also expanded on the whole Breathren Moon thing.

He'd need to be able to resist their telepathic abilities at close range, which doesn't seem feasible. The Moons are too powerful.

He doesn't die, and its left vague outside of the fact that a bunch of other moons followed them back to Earth. But honestly if you wanted to, you could easily retcon that as more marker madness and hallucinations.

Dead space 3 was just ass, if they were to make a new game they should just pretend it didn't happen and have a new protagonist dealing with a different outbreak.

Everything we know about the intended plan for Dead Space 4 sounded pretty lame and directionless.
