Old People
One of the reasons I don't play a lot of games is because "I've already played this game".
For example, I played a lot of Halo 3, and CoD 4 in college.
I would have to have brain damage to still be playing FPS games in 2025, after already playing 100's of hours of those games 20 years ago.
However, I do understand that kids have a different perspective. They don't have 1000 hours in vanilla WoW. They might actually enjoy retail WoW, or whatever Black Ops 9 or whatever garbage is released these days.

I sometimes wonder what it must be like, to actually enjoy the copy-paste games that are released today, because they are genuinely new to kids. What are some modern games you think might be fun, if you were a kid today?
>saying modern slop is good
This is not an admission that these games are good, but games that might be fun if you could have a memory wipe.

For me, I think modern Pokemon is probably pretty fun for them. It's nothing like the hype of being 10 years old when gen 1 came out, but to modern kids, they don't know any better. I know if I were a kid today, I'd be all over coomer shit like Genshin and Fortnite. This might even be the case for n00bs that simply didn't play any games growing up. Like those house wives that now have nothing to do, so they actually play modern WoW. It's crazy, but there are people that have not played everything already. I sometimes wonder what their world must be like. Modern gamers never experienced finished, polished games, so all they know is broken unfinished subscription dlc shit. It's 'the norm' to them. It is crazy talking to an 18 year old in 2025, and they genuinely like Destiny 2. It's like talking to a crack head praising crack and sucking dick. Wild stuff, but it's real. People genuinely like this trash. Thank you for reading my blog.

I bet you don't carry this philosophy to any other activities in your life and just repeat the same thing eating the same stuff, doing the same exercise, doing the same hobbies... Why so?

You bet and lost. I'm extremely open-minded and try tons of new things. My flaw is not sticking with hobbies for more than a few months. I baked bread and even tried knitting. I never quit playing sports, though.
Thanks for trying to insult me, though. I like the attention.

That's the same thing and what I was fishing for, though. Checked and mated.

No need to get flustered. Some people just are built like you and never stick with anything brain-y.

Agreed, only because (as you're saying in your post) they don't really innovate or even refine the genre.
Like the new BF6 game, the destruction is shit, there's no new gimmicks or weapons, the maps are small, I'm not getting more of the things that I've like about the series or even a refinement (in other words polishing jank, like say boats in BFBC2), instead it's just weird dumbing down and repeated shit I've already seen.

All that said, see it from the Zoomer's perspective: Every game they've ever played isn't just a sequel, it's the 10th sequel in the franchise.
They've NEVER experienced an ounce of originality for even a second in their life, whether it's TV, movies, music, books (not that we as a culture have read in a big way since Harry Potter), or video games, it's all rehashes and big marketing.

Any originality or creativity is punished at the academic level, they're told to conform, that they're bad kids, that they're privileged, that they're evil, and when they do something (zoomer speak, zoomer memes, zoomer dances, zoomer clothes) it's mocked and derided.
They were raised by iPads, neglected by their parents, emotionally stunted, then further muted by the self-reporting zoomers told to always be vigilant for wrongthink amongst their peers, always tearing each other down, always posting shit like "Whatever good thing you said you did, or felt, or lived? Didn't happen."

They've got to be one of the most unhappy generations to ever live and even their entertainment outlets, the places where they're supposed to escape, are just a monetized rehash hellscape full of more self policing.
I genuinely sympathize with zoomers.
