I'll hold my breath but given the trailer, I seriously don't expect the Legion to be more than just a single episode speedbump/distraction, to be comically misrepresented and mischaracterized (le ebil patriarchal slavers, and comic relief joke faction because sports equipment!), and subsequently eliminated within the same episode.

Like the sheriff and deputy group, "the Government" in season 1, just a one episode throwaway. They show up, butts heads with the protagonists, and someone (probably the Ghoul) just destroys them all.

NCR either lost the dam and is struggling to hold onto any part of Nevada they can, or they won but are weakened by the various events of season one. The legion either won the dam, or they returned to take advantage of the complete lack of order. New Vegas will be in a state of anarchy with the NCR and Legion fighting over the scraps
