It was competent but took zero risks. It did everything it set out to do, and nothing more. The companions feel like archetypes you've seen elsewhere, the story is exactly what you're expecting, quests have exactly the resolutions you're expecting, etc. There's no surprise or excitement.

My biggest concern is

Did they make looting actually matter
Are the perks actually variety and not just super generic or companion perks

The problem is the devs WANT that so they can play victim on social media after openly being hostile to their potential customers to begin with. It's a cycle that will continue forever and I'm starting to think a lot of these ugly piece of shit games are just weird elaborate money laundering schemes or something because it's a pattern that repeats even in places like the movie industry. The creators are extremely hostile to the audience and then their product fails and then production of a new thing starts and then again they become hostile to the future audience and then it all fails again. There's no way this isn't on purpose, someone found some loophole somewhere that allows for failure projects to make money for SOMEONE out there because it keeps happening on purpose.
