Nah like every gacha story it's too focused on presenting FOTM characters. In gacha it works because those characters are then fleshed out in side quests and in gameplay. But in anime you'd just be rotating through character introductions for the whole show, like in the Arknights show. That sucks
They should just do an independent story in Genshin's world. Maybe just follow the other sibling into the past

Nod krai was supposed to be the bestest thing that genshin ever released because of columbina and the good-good-bad pattern, that is for every 2 good region there will be 1 shithole region that nobody cares about (mondstadt (good) - liyue (good) - inazuma (bad, some players quit in here) - sumeru (good) - fontaine (good) - natlan (bad, lots of people quit genshin in here) - nod krai)

What's incoherent about it? It's a mountainous and volcanic region that is full of vibrant color with graffiti everywhere as an expression of that color. They also have ancient dragon robots wandering around and Abyssal balls farting in place because of the volcano and just in general respectively. It's actually quite thematically sound.

Dinotopia with modern looking clothing, with random pieces of modern tech and excessive amounts of graffiti all over the wilds. The fantasy tribes living with saurians should've been the whole vibe. Throwing in blatantly modern elements was a mistake that turns the whole region into a wacky cartoon land.

They're an entire region based off of dragon AI running the place for years that they stole (or were given) technology from/by. One of the main areas you visit is literally a volcano where the entirety of the inside has a fake sky made by the dragons akin to the Truman show which has already been established to be what Teyvat's sky is exactly like in general.

It's old dragon tech. Pretty much all the super advanced phogiston tech that the characters use is created by finding old dragon tech in some ancient ruins, modifying them, splicing together into something different and giving them a new paint job. The reason it's not common in Natlan is because dragon tech in itself isn't common. Xilonen can only create new gizmos by using old dragon relics.

For instance, let's say that someone took the hyper-advanced bullshit tech in Stormterror's Lair and fashioned it into a microwave. Or, fuck, take apart one of those Khaenri'an robots and turned them into a car. Would you still be complaining? The tech exists already, you just need to take advantage of it. Problem is, Mondstadt doesn't have any engineers. But you know who DOES grave rob ancient ruins and fashion them into high-tech weapons? The desert dwellers in Sumeru. They're not as good at it as Xilonen, but there's ancient tech all over the desert just waiting to be used. Kaveh created his briefcase using that very same tech. He didn't create it from scratch, it's just one of Deshret's machines modified into a briefcase.

Point is the game gives an explanation. There's ancient supertech all over Teyvat. Every single nation. Even the fucking frigid mountain is filled with hyper-advanced technology that far outstrips anything we have. It's just that the only nations who know how to take advantage of it are in Sumeru, Fontaine and Natlan. Though in the case of Natlan, Xilonen is the only one who knows how to use it. There's hints that she's studied engineering texts from Fontaine.
