People call any third-person action game a Soulslike now, when really "Soulslike" should refer to games where you drop your EXP on the ground when you die. That's literally the only thing about Souls games that's different compared to other ARPGs.

People cloning the game doesnt mean its an impact.
Souls combat just copied ocarinas of time combat, as literally said by the devs. They just copied that game...
That game made a masssive impact of the industry.
All that has happened with souls is other devs have cloned the gameplay to try and capitalize on its popularity.

Me personally I have only ever played ER of fromsoft. Well and like 2 mins of OG DS before I dropped it because of the horrid aesthetics.
ER I have not even ever got past the lake, or done raya lucaria. Both times I tried to play it I dropped it.
Though I do intend to try and pick it up again at some point. I just dont like the whole BS jank and purposely cheating enemies. Shit like where it reads your inputs ect.
Which of course is the point. It is meant to be brutal and punishing. Why people like it.
Though on a flip side of that nu GoW which in some way also takes examples from souls, teh combat doesnt cheat you and it much more enjoyable.

i tried DS2/DS3, Bloodbourne, Sekiro (the only one that was somewhat decent), Elden Cringe
none of them are good, its one of the most retarded genre currently and i cant wait until its forgotten
