Ogres can range anywhere from as "small" as 6 feet to as big as a house. There's no reason playable ogres wouldn't just be ogrelets. I haven't kept up with WoW in a few years, but if there are sporebats, and the weird zangar walker things on azeroth than there is a possible answer.
During the maghar recruitment questline, you go back to WoD's timeline and you find out that the Light/Y'rel have become space nazi's and are convert or die. IIRC they have conquered most of the planet and there is basically one refuge left. You help the Maghar and some other race refugees hold out on the final attack so they can escape through a time portal back to YOUR Azeroth, and in doing so, a bunch of the evil plant dudes from Gorgrond + other monsters, also slip in and head right to the fucking barrens for a potential Wailing caverns 3.0 plotline.
So basically, Sporebats and what not could have come from WoW through a portal.

I dont think this is any different from say people who think that the 1950s were some Golden age or the 1980s-90s were some great time. The reality is that it was all shit but we are living in tighter cycles of degeneration and generational trauma that people are harkening back to things that are shit while they have no memory of actual greatness. I quit During Wrath as well after that TGC patch released and you can clearly see Activision's influence casualizing the game and ruining raid progresion by introducing their communist rebalancing by making loot for TGC better than hardmodes from previous raid tiers essentially removing the achievements and progression of hardcore raiders.

They went from releasing the best Raid ever to the worst raid ever in one patch.

Like I dont even know what wow is anymore it used to be like Dungeons and Dragons and Lord of the Rings now is like Women Drama with Gays and Captain Planet. Even the art style and animations look warped and lame like its not even the same game at all anymore and its not like theres any point it really died but it was a gradually build up, just a never ending fall into degeneracy. When I look at it im filled with a bizzare mixture of fascination, horror, amusement and disgust.

Modern WoW is like is God took a break for a couple thousand years and left humans to their own devices without any interferance and then came back to modern day and just looked at everything gone wrong. Just look at it.

And again, they've tried doing their own versions. It was planned early on in vanilla but scrapped, that's why you had those portals in Stormwind leading nowhere. Garrisons were intended to be highly customizable but were seriously cut down, the whole expansion was, and had too many features that turned WoW into a solo game. Order Halls were an extension of that as shared public spaces, but with less features that make it so you never have to leave, which were much better received. They're going for something similar with neighborhood.
Even Covenant Sanctums weren't bad, it was the Covenant system itself that was.
