Usual OP hyperbole to attract discussion aside, part of it is that Limbus already came from an established setting with different expectations. A lot of gachas have the Player Character be the center of the universe and have every other character have their story all tied at the hip to the MC and either directly or indirectly make every character be apart of the MC's harem.

As much as I enjoy Blue Archive and a few other gachas, I do think they tend to pigeon hole themselves into setting up a harem situation. Part of it is the nature of gacha, where collecting all the waifus is part of the experience so it's easy to make the story reflect that.

My personal beef with harems is that the trope is too overdone at this point and zoomers are too autistic about canonical pairings. Zoomer incels go into a chud rage over fictional yuri and fat femcels shit themselves over canon couples.

I miss the times when you could just make an anime girl your waifu.
