I just beat the game (all endings) with 21 hours in it.

It felt like a giant fucking prologue to black souls 2 if I'm being quite honest with you. Like the game's really cool and all, but there's fuckall to do in the endgame. I suppose I can just fuck around in the world now, but it ironically feels lifeless now.

8/10. Only real complaint is how slow Grimm is even with shift, but that's apparently not an issue in 2. I will wait till it releases on steam to review it. Music's pretty lit ngl.

I know I could have cut the video to save like 90% of the pixels but I got both kills in under 2 minutes so I didnt bother. Nothing special just stack resin and kill. Evade really is just an I win button once you clear some speed thresholds with Rapunzel Ring.

Also tried fighting Miranda. Shes impossible for SL1 at least before going north. Shes stupidly fast and she deals unavoidable 2k damage even with +50Def & 30% Phys resistance ring on.

Satyr is possible but isnt worth the amount of resources spent, as his Lust skill heals him to full but he can be whittled down very slowly with Power Within Conflagrate if you farm like a bunch of Magistone from Dead Angels in Rapunzel's Tower. his problem is that he likes to spam evades too.

BS1's issues are twofold in my opinion. First, it backloads about 90% of the shit that actually matters into the last hour or two of game time. Second, once it shows you the shit that actually matters, it just fucking ends. Sure, there's a couple of things you can do to that tease shit for BS2, but on its own it's pretty much the definition of sequel bait.
BS2 is a direct sequel to the events of BS1, even if it doesn't seem like it at first, and it's a much larger and more complex game across the board. People usually don't shill BS1 because it's an inherently good game in its own right (though I don't think it's completely without merit), but because it's required reading for the generally superior sequel.
Also, if you haven't gotten D yet you probably should. While it is the sequelbait ending, it's also important for BS2.

The smaller and more simple story was very nice and interesting to see it unfold.
Maybe I felt like BS2 was too bloated, way too much going on with it, even if it was interesting.

Nah, BS1's heroines are pretty trash as far as romance goes. Mary Sue being the one writing shit here certainly doesn't help them. BS2's not much better for most of the cast, but that's also intentional, and the main girls are pretty decently well written.
