>>718546405 (OP) >punch the fractone, expecting DK to just high-five them like he does every other friendly NPC >it fucking shatters instead >it regenerates straight away
I was not reading for that emotional rollercoaster

fractones are great, easily the most charming generic NPCs I've seen in a while
weird useless fact: the fractones arguing over the best type of fries change forms into animal types in the postgame and their dialogue changes slightly to match

there is something a little melancholy to it, especially the slowed down planet core version

I donβt know why but going off of this theory, this almost seems a little creepy, not in like an actively scared sort of way but more like a spooky hellvalleyskytree smg 2 easter egg sort of way
>>718551886 >think punching npcβs does just lead to you beating them up like the fractonee >avoid doing it all game as not hurt anyone >accidentally hit punch with one >It just high-fives them >only find this out extremely late in the game
I may be retarded. Actually I think I am
I was listening to the bananza soundtrack while exercising but paused the music every time I passed someone out of embarrassment even though it's just in my earbuds
Something about not wantint to spout OHHHH ZEBRAAAA ZEBRAAAA ZEEEBRAAAAA to strangers instead of "hi"

Same, I was just monkeying around thinking itβd be a goofy reaction like everything else in this fever dream of a game. Then WHAM-glass-shatter sound and that weird muted scream they make. Genuinely felt like I kicked a puppy and then watched it auto-repair like a Terminator. Game hits different when it decides to be unsettling outta nowhere.

This. Whenever I need a chunk to throw, if there's a Fractone nearby I'm ripping it out of their body. They don't even mind, they regenerate it nigh-instantly and continue on, not even caring.
