The real issue with chartfagging about Killing Floor in particular is that this trend is identical to both previous games.
>KF1 started off relatively weak and then exploded in popularity a year later
>Then steadily dropped down over time, with the usual daily ups and downs
>Still hits highs every few months (not that you can tell since Steamcharts smooths out bumps into generalizations as game age rises)
>KF2 started off strong riding off the success of KF1
>Almost immediately lost 90% of its population due to people shitting on all the changes and poor optimization
>Its all-time high wasn't until 3 years later
>The standard downward trend with bumps during events/people felt like it and got together as a community
And KF3 is shaping up exactly the same.
On top of all that, Chartfagging in general is trying to make a problem out of a natural phenomenon most of the time, most games do not become overnight massive successes and acting like a game that fails to do that is a failure is just dramafagging.
