Borderlands just continues to insist upon itself and force a manic energy that I just cannot conjure up for a series where no matter what decision I make as a Vault Hunter they are never respected by the story.

Like, no. I want a story driven experience and this series isn't going to ever capitalize on the lore in a satisfying way or ever really acknowledge you as a player. You're not a character in this series. You're just a force of nature enabling this awful story to play out in front of you. That's it. Your input isn't respected. You're just making events happen so you can watch more of this terrible fanfic continue. This kind of game has to appeal to people with no jobs or real responsibilities. Because Borderlands as a whole is just a sad song with nothing to say.
Hitting level cap at 50 and then having to wait on DLC so I can actually max out a skill tree and have fun with a character the way that they're designed to be? For like the 6th time? No thank you. My time and money are better spent elsewhere.
