When I took my mother and aunts to the cinema with me to watch sonic the headhog 2 in 4D, the seat just shook violently 20 seconds after sonic ran or somebody hit someone else. for the most part. the real downside of 3ds is how low res the main screen is since the 3d effect cuts the render resolution in half. these dual screen consoles allow you to upscale, add antialiasing and incorporate hi-res mods. It should emulate at around ps2 generation but full speed is a case to case basis. We're only at the infancy of dual screen handhelds so my advice is to just hold off for now since these chinks release new skus every other week.

Rocknix is awful on RP5. It has awful framepacing and games stutter for no reason even when it has plenty of power left. I even went ahead to set up MangoHUD and yep the frametime graph was having a seizure. I even tried the latest nightly and it still had that problem. Android works flawlessly in that regard so I just gave up on Linux. Not that it makes a lot of difference when you're in the actual game.

That's a part of the reason I support the chinks in this instance, though. Corporate strategies for distributing old media are disgusting, but people are too used to it at this point for change to happen outside of a colossal fuckup. For one example, it's wild to me that some people seem to be happy waiting for a drip feed of 20+ year old GameCube games that aren't even available for a proper purchase. We used to have it better (and faster).

Of course, it helps that they are making devices with form factor that have been abandoned by more legitimate players in the industry. Phones and hybrid consoles aren't 1:1 replacements.

It's kind of jarring how most of the stuff shown in this mockup trailer is better than the actual real thing.

I pulled my DSlite out to play games recently and both screens have got the white haze in the corners now. But also the screens just feel too fucking tiny now. I don't know why they suddenly feel so small now. Maybe it's just my eyesight getting shittier with age. I've found that android emulators work fine, just that some are a pain to set up.
Drastic for example makes its own partition on the disk to do fuck all.
Retroarch meanwhile needs to be pointed at you games and bios folders, and afterwards runs with some per console tinkering to handle scaling.
